Recognize the Symptoms

Covering the Children with Prayer

Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.” 3 John 1:2

Good health.

‘Tis the season for many a thing and one thing is illness. People rushing about to get flu shots. Doping up on cough syrups. If you’re like my household, pulling up home remedies and stocking up on teas, honey, and herbs. All that coupled with the power of prayer for comfort and relief from the symptoms.

A symptom is a sign that and illness exists.

Let’s say that again. It’s a sign that the illness is there or trying to overcome you.

God does not promise healing simply because we ask, but he does require and ask for faith. Faith and works overcomes! Christmas time is often revered as a time of give and take and being a kind person. Jesus was born and this began the process of Jesus paving the path of righteousness with faith and works.

Stress. Obstacles. Attack. These are symptoms that Satan is trying to keep you from the very thing God has set aside for you. He doesn’t want you to achieve it! Symptoms of spiritual warfare.

December is set aside as a day of observing the coming of the messiah to show us true sacrifice, faith, and works are possible and alive today evermore.

While we prepare to fight these symptoms of illness, let’s battle these fires with the word. Just like we prepare with preventative shots and meds, let’s prepare for battle against the devil trying to overcome our thought life. The bible is our preventative measure against what snares the devil sets before us.

‘Tis the season to keep up the army lines against the enemy! It’s the season for prevention of stolen goods, our relationship with the Holy Spirit.

Recognize the symptoms.

Let’s pray.

Dear God,

I pray for all the children all over the world. I pray they recognize the symptoms of their worth trying to be snatched away. I pray they know they are a power force in the Kingdom. I pray they suit with preparation, the Word. I pray good health over them, both physical and spiritual. May the Word guide them with confidence to step into Your plan. In Jesus name, Amen.

So you opened your mouth about your beliefs. Now your circle of friends have pushed you to the outside of the ring because now you’re a Jesus Freak. Is this you? Or maybe a fear you have?

Spoils of war. Really. It’s the spoils of war.

When people see the God in you and don’t want to feel convicted they will surround themselves with people that still make their actions feel validated.

You aren’t missing anything except what is not meant for you. God has so much more planned for you. Don’t miss the pleasures of the world.

How often do you hear people saying they are looking for peace?….connection?…spiritual guidance?

Baby, it’s all over you. People often ask for things they are not ready for. They want “spiritual peace” but still want to be in the craziness of the world.

“The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14

You have the ultimate peace. The Holy Spirit. Time and time again the bible shows how God blesses and used people according to their faithfulness, not how many friends they had trying to be something they weren’t meant to be. Answer your calling!

“Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.” Colossians 4:5

Let’s pray.

Dear God,

I pray for the children all over the world. I pray they are not of the world but seek to be apart from it and step into their anointing. Step into what you have set aside for them that distinctively sets them apart from everyone else. I pray they realize their worth and joy fall into the snares of the devil trying to blend in. 1 Timothy 3:7 says, “Moreover, he must be well thought of by outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, into a snare of the devil.” I pray covering and revelation for the children, Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.

Out from the Rest

Have you ever met Christians that when you are around them you can’t feel they are Christians? You couldn’t tell until they told you. Where is their light? God has called us to be set apart from the world. We aren’t to disguise ourselves to be wolves among wolves in the flock. Strengthen the flock with fellowship and the united lifting of the Word.

What you say matters. The Bible says there is life and death in the tongue. We have to power to speak directly into our situations, our lives even!

We stand out because our walk should match our speech. The Word is consistent and everlasting. God’s promises don’t change. That gives believers specific expectations. We go into things with expectation and stand on faith for the outcome. What peace this brings! People will look at you and wonder how you’re so calm or how you’re so sure of yourself.

1 Peter 3:15 reads, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.”

Share that joy! Share your testimony and why you are so peculiar. Share what makes you different. Share why you stand out and embrace it!

“In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16).

Let’s pray.

Dear God,

I pray for all of the children all over the world. I pray the light in them shines and pierces the darkness with their every footfall. I pray the children realize the promise and embrace it as they walk with purpose as kingdom leaders. Lord, we thank you for the power and authority bestowed to us. In Jesus name, Amen.

Eh tu? Or not You?

We discussed friendships before but this topic never gets old.

Are you feeling alone because you don’t hang around the same circles anymore? God has set you apart and those old friends that got you into those sticky situations start to feel uncomfortable around you.

Sometimes you lose friend incidentally. Notice I said incidentally instead of accidentally. Accidentally would mean it was something unfortunate and unintentional. Incidentally means something that results as a consequence of something. See it this way…

You may not have set out to lose your friends but because you made the necessary changes in your life to be spiritually sound and connected, a consequence of that is for those spirits that oppose will flee. 1 Corinthians 15:33 says, “ Do not be deceived: ‘Bad company ruins good morals.’”

Those harmful negative spirits already know! The Word has already commanded it. It is the Word of God. “Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God.” (Psalms 119:115)

So it leads to the question:

Were they your friends to begin with? I mean truly? A friend would have your best interest at heart. A friend loves you and actually wants to be accountable for you and with you.

So many people now speak the phrase, “I’m woke.” Well… now is you time for awakening. Be woke in your spiritual and personal life. This is the life God has given us to enjoy and be blessed. Be not fooled and blind of the war that cries out from behind the cloak. The cloak is the glamour. Everything…I mean everything can tend to look so glamorous. Enticing you to partake. Everyone else is, right?

This is where your real, REAL friends come in place. They will be placed in your life by God to fight the good fight and embrace the Word. Entwine it into your relationships. With God supporting every bond and everything we do, how could we go wrong?’

Let’s pray.

Dear God,

I pray for the children all over the world. Lord, I pray they feel friendship and not loneliness. I pray each soul partnered up with prayer warriors and crusaders for the kingdom. Lord, let them stay woke. We thank you for the refreshing and awakening spirit and for accountability partners in this walk of life. To God be the glory! In Jesus name, Amen.

Knock, Knock? God is that You?

That voice deep down can be soft or it can even stir you awake.

It makes me think of Jiminey Cricket. However you spell that little bug’s name. You know the story of the little wooden boy and he was given a cricket for a conscious? Watching the cartoon now in my adult life know what I know spirituality, it rang a symbolic truth.

Sometimes we don’t give that little voice credit or pay attention. You really have to be still and let peace sound within you to hear it. It may be a quick alert. It may be an elaborate answer to something you have been pondering. It may be a whole number of things big or small. The question is: How do you know it’s God talking to you?

Easy and not so easy at the same time. You have to really listen to the voice and know the Word of God. Did you know that the simple act of praying is a conversation with God? God is not going to tell you to do anything that does NOT align with the Word. God will never contradict the Word. His Word. If that voice you hear is against the Word, that’s not God!

Secondly, many times we will get circumstantial answers. This can happen in a number of ways. It could be a prayer was answered after you listened to that little voice to follow through with something or even when you get a sudden warning, an internal alert about something or someone and later find out it was a good thing you did because something unpleasant came about. Many people say, “Wow! I’m glad I dodged that bullet!” It most likely was the obedience to the voice and the Word of God.

Now remember don’t go off just one and not the other. It still ALWAYS has to align with His Word. It will align with the Bible truth.

There’s another way to know God’s voice. Have you ever had someone confirm something that came to you previous to your encounter with whatever they said or did? You get this feeling like, “Wow! That’s crazy that the same thing crossed my mind yesterday!” Or “I can’t believe I was led to do just that and because of it (blah blah blah etc) happened!” That was your obedience, the alignment of the Word, AND confirmation from someone that is also spiritually connected.

This is why young people need to know their power. Don’t wait until you’re a certain age to tap into it. If you are old enough to understand and read, you can tap into it. I know for a fact the Holy Spirit uses our toddler in the most beautiful ways to get us to really be quiet and be still and just watch Him (God) work.

Listen to that voice. Become familiar to God’s calling to you.

Let’s pray.

Dear God,

I pray for the children all over the world that they know Your voice and tune into the Word for alignment. Lord, I know you out people in place in our path for confirmation and revelation of our path and the living Word. I thank you for truth and restoration of mind and body. Lord, quiet us and be us still to Your voice to receive what the kingdom has in store for us. In Jesus name, Amen.

Seasonal Newness

So it’s that time of year where most places in the norther hemisphere are experiencing cold. Animals are hibernating. Birds are flying south. I live south in the United States so I guess our birds are flying “south-er”.

It’s the time of year where things kind of go to die. Okay, not die but this cold weather is not my cup of tea or coffee for that matter. I need to fly south.

The Earth goes through a changing cycle. A renewing. The circle of life. The frost comes then in spring everything thaws and there’s a somewhat rebirthing of the earth. A rejoicing for growth and warmth.

Now keep in mind. We don’t hibernate. I’d like to at times but I don’t. God sets us apart from other creation. Now let’s take it a step further. I tried to articulate this in church yesterday but my words just jumbled in a big mess and came out as a riddle. Here was the point to this recycling period that happens:

We are renewed daily, several times a day even. The Word is refreshing to our spirit. The Word never does this brings everlasting life. Now apply this everlasting Word to us in regards to nature. While humans are set apart from the beast and the foliage, Christians are even further set apart due to the perseverance of the Word through His promises and the whole armor of God. While Christmas time brings good cheer and will and gives people that desire to do great deeds, pay it forward, and be giving; This is the Christians everyday walk. Our motivation is the promises from God and the fellowship through the spirit.

While the world goes through its seasons of recycling and starting over. Christians are set apart to fair the weather. We operate in a different climate, God’s climate. As the seasons progress we aren’t starting over. We are growing and strengthening in the Lord as stewards and stewardesses.

Let’s pray.

Dear God,

I pray for the children in the world. I pray that during this season where things turn cold and times mix cheerful and unmerciful the children are sheathed with the leather of the Word. Leather indestructible and everlasting with warms and abundant comfort. The Word. Lord I thank you for revelation that we are to stand out in the cold and be not only a light in a dark place but the warmth in the frost. I pray them strength and encouragement, In Jesus name, Amen.

Stressfully Yours,

Cover the Children with Prayers

No matter your age you can be attacked. Stress. Many times it’s sneaky and silent. More deadly then the other little silent but deadly stinkers (if you know what I mean).

Holidays should be a time of togetherness, remembrance. And thankfulness. Well… yes, but stress is common this time of year.

It’s a myth that children don’t get stressed. It’s not just an adult thing. As a matter of fact, we as adults even teach our children to stress. Instead of leading the example of living faithfully many times what we show in actually is to do it stressfully.

When we worry about tomorrow our kids see that. When we are frantically trying to pull it all together for this “magical Hollywood” holiday we show that it takes hard work and, well… stress. Then it will all pay off.

There’s a better way! Faithfulness. Get it done faithfully. There’s nothing too small or too big to take to God. Think of family and friends.Do you sometimes turn to them or confide in them for help or suggestions? Why not take it to the Ultimate One?

Your Father wants you to come to Him.

Stress is a feeling of overwhelming. In today’s world you hear the term “unplug” bounced around. Yes! Unplug! Even Jesus had to unplug and get away from the hustle and bustle to be still and spend time with God. Get away to a “you” space, a “you” time. Unplug from the world and plug into God. That overwhelming overcoming with transfer and disperse into peace and clarity.

What does the Bible say about stress?

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:6). John 14:27 goes further to say, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” So….cast it and be at peace.

Let’s pray.

Dear God,

I pray for all the children in the world that there little hearts, minds, and bodies be freed of stress. Lord, pull it from them, wad it up, and cast it far from them. Psalms 55:22 says, “Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” We believe it and stand in the word of God. In Jesus name, we thank You and exalt You. Amen and Amen.
